'Big, ripe and focused, offering a blast of cherry and plum, with a welcome floral note that lasts through the long, vivid finish. Has a touch of spice as the finish lingers against fine tannins.'– Harvey Steiman, www.winespectator.com

About This Wine:

When we were deciding on the wine styles we would make for the Mollydooker label, we were going through a very tough time financially, and Sparky said “We'd better make wines which we want to drink ourselves, in case that is what we have to end up doing”. Janet (Sparky’s mom)’s choice was an elegant, seductive, yet broodingly powerful Shiraz Cabernet blend. So Sarah and Sparky made her the EP. ‘I have very happy memories of the day Sarah and I spent choosing the name and the label. I am delighted that you have chosen 'my' wine, even if it does mean that I don't get to drink it all myself!’ – Janet

‘Purple/black colored, it has a brooding bouquet of spice box, toasty oak, mineral, espresso, black currant, and blueberry.’ – Jay Miller, www.erobertparker.com

Label: Sarah says that this wine celebrates our journey in life and our partnership in winemaking. Just as we use our separate abilities to enhance our winemaking, we blend the separate characters of these two classic varieties into a beautiful wine. When you join the Enchanted Path and the Carnival of Love together, the two labels form one beautiful continuous love story.

Vineyards: The grapes for the 2007 Enchanted Path came from the Gateway and Dry Creek, and Prime vineyards in McLaren Vale.

The Gateway vineyard is on the magical Seaview Ridge which is home to most of the iconic McLaren Vale wines. It is owned by a consortium of enthusiastic accountants, lawyers and grape growers who are dedicated to sustainable agriculture.
The meticulous viticulture is done by Paxton and the grapes are managed according to the Marquis Vineyard Watering Program™

The Dry Creek vineyard is in the Sellicks Hill area of McLaren Vale and is owned and managed by Darryl, Neville & Jan Kirwin. The Kirwin family have years of grape growing experience in the Riverland area of South Australia and moved to McLaren Vale to follow their dream of producing grapes which would make quality wine. Their two 5 acre Shiraz blocks have 8 watering zones each, making them the most complex vineyards that we manage under our watering program. Darryl looks after the blocks and we reckon that he knows every vine personally!

The Prime vineyard is located in the heart of McLaren Vale and is owned by Warwick, Jenny & Robert Prime. Warwick is well known in South Australian for his work in television, radio and fundraising. In retirement he devotes his time to his beloved Cabernet vineyard, hand pruning each vine himself and proving the truth of the old saying ‘The best fertilizer is the owner’s shadow’. In 2007 this vineyard produced our very best Cabernet Sauvignon.
