Velvet Glove exemplifies our craft at its best, which is why we only make it in the years we are blessed with exceptional fruit.

To honour the beauty and individuality of our Velvet Glove Shiraz, we seal it in a unique bottle, apply a real velvet label printed in silver foil, and then place the bottle in a gorgeous velvet bag embroided with silver thread. It's our labour of love to provide you with a joyful experience from beginning to end.

As a family we aim to have the Velvet Glove somewhere around the end of the main course (that's entree in America), which is usually organically-raised beef steak with just picked garden veggies... then we have it carry over into a nice and simple chocolate-y dessert. Velvet Glove is so beautiful and complex that we prefer to keep the pairings simple and to let the wine really be the focal point of the meal. As a Shiraz, it goes will with just about any red meat, especially if complimented with spicy notes from different types of pepper and sweet notes from something like a dark fruit (like cherry or fig) reduction. All our reds are terrific if you slowly caramelize onions in a dash of whichever red wine you're drinking (if you don't want to part with any of your Velvet Glove in the cooking process, Blue Eyed Boy or The Boxer will work great). A steak with good fat content like ribeye is always a good match, and of course we love Shiraz with lamb chops. Friends tell us that any game meats are great too like venison and buffalo. One customer told us that his favorite meal was actually Velvet Glove paired with a wild Muscovy duck and a dried fig and exotic pepper reduction. Yummmm.
