Label: The Gigglepot on the label is Sarah and Sparky's daughter Holly, who couldn't stop laughing about how she looked with these crazy black glasses on! Our 2006 vintage was the first release and was rated 95 points by Jay Miller at The Wine Advocate and 91 points by Harvey Steiman at Wine Spectator.
Vineyards:
The grapes for the 2007 Gigglepot came from the Prime and Gateway vineyards in McLaren Vale.
The Prime vineyard is in the heart of McLaren Vale and is owned by Warwick, Jenny & Robert Prime. Warwick is well known in South Australian for his work in television, radio and fundraising. In retirement he devotes his time to his beloved Cabernet vineyard, hand pruning each vine himself and proving the truth of the old saying ‘The best fertilizer is the owner’s shadow’.
The Gateway vineyard is on the magical Seaview Ridge which is home to most of the iconic McLaren Vale wines. It is owned by a consortium of enthusiastic viticulturalists, wine makers and grape growers who are dedicated to sustainable agriculture.
The meticulous viticulture is done by Paxton and the grapes are managed according to the Marquis Vineyard Watering Program™
