This beautiful Shiraz/Cabernet is one of our favourites. The two varieties synergistically blend to create a lovely leafy, rhubarb and plum fruit nose and chocolate, spice and blackberry flavours. Its opulence, elegance and incredible structure are amazing. It is seamless from beginning to end.

Just as we use our separate abilities to enhance our winemaking, we blend the separate characters of these two classic varieties into a beautiful wine. Vineyards
The grapes for the 2006 Enchanted Path came from the Gateway and Prime vineyards in McLaren Vale.

The Gateway vineyard is on the magical Seaview Ridge which is home to most of the iconic McLaren Vale wines. It is owned by a consortium of enthusiastic viticulturalists, wine makers and grape growers who are dedicated to sustainable agriculture.
The meticulous viticulture is done by Paxton and the grapes are managed according to the Marquis Vineyard Watering Program™

The Prime vineyard is in the heart of McLaren Vale and is owned by Warwick, Jenny & Robert Prime. Warwick is well known in South Australian for his work in television, radio and fundraising. In retirement he devotes his time to his beloved Cabernet vineyard, hand pruning each vine himself and proving the truth of the old saying ‘The best fertilizer is the owner’s shadow’.

‘The 2006 Shiraz (66%) – Cabernet Sauvignon (34%) "Enchanted Path" was made entirely from McLaren Vale fruit. Opaque purple-colored, the wine has a fragrant bouquet of pain grille, leather, smoked meat, game, blueberry, and blackberry. This is followed by a structured wine with intense, spicy black fruit flavors, full-body, and superb balance. It is still tightly wound and will benefit from 6-8 years of cellaring.
